The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 466: Stone Fruit

Several days later, Sun Wukong once again arrived at the Langya Blessed Land.

Houtu was waiting for him at the location of the Spirit Vein.

"I want to go in."

This she said.

"Then let's go together."

Sun Wukong opened the gate and took her hand to fly over.

However, after flying only a short distance, he could no longer pull her forward.

Houtu was blocked by an energy wall, and despite exerting all her strength, she couldn't budge even slightly; outside the gate, a tremendous force pushed against her, making it increasingly difficult the closer she got.

"It's no use, it won't accept me!"

Houtu was in pain: "This place is too terrifying."

She was unhappy, but powerless, and so she had to let go of Sun Wukong's hand.

Sun Wukong tried other methods but still couldn't bring Houtu in, so he had no choice but to say goodbye to her and entered alone.

This time in the Langya Blessed Land, Sun Wukong carefully inspected the area and indeed found no sign of any living being.

Those stone-like plants showed no signs of sentient intelligence either.

Sun Wukong arrived at the base and once again sat down cross-legged.

Immersed in cultivation, the Spiritual Energy of the stele surged into his acupoints, transforming into a hazy Immortal Energy around him.

The Immortal Energy slowly flowed, and in the blink of an eye, two months had passed.

Sun Wukong stopped his cultivation and left the Langya Blessed Land.

He went back to check the situation and then took the opportunity to come back.

Just like this, several years flashed by.

The base where Sun Wukong cultivated had become an ocean of Spiritual Power, the surrounding area hazy and emitting strange fluctuations.

"I've progressed further."

Sun Wukong gathered his power and rose to his feet.

At his level of cultivation, getting stronger didn't seem all that obvious anymore.

However, after spending several years here, he still felt a sense of becoming stronger, his body and Divine Soul both had made further improvements.

Perhaps after the next trial, he would be able to withstand it completely.

"The timing is just right."

Sun Wukong thought, as the next trial was about to approach.

"Come back!"

He raised his hand, and immediately two streaks of light flew towards him from afar.

It was Jingu Bang and the Palm Leaf Fan; Sun Wukong had not wasted the materials of the Langya Blessed Land. While cultivating, he was also improving the power of Jingu Bang and the Palm Leaf Fan.

Though he didn't understand Artifact Refining, within the Three Thousand Immortal Paths, there were many methods to enhance the power of Immortal Energy, all of which he had made use of.

"Huh? What have you brought back?"

Sun Wukong retrieved his weapons and suddenly discovered a vine wrapped around the Jingu Bang.

On the vine, there hung two Stone Fruits.

The Stone Fruits shone with a crystalline luster, with a hint of gold light inside, and smelled refreshingly fragrant.

Sun Wukong plucked one and put it into his mouth to eat.

The Stone Fruit broke as soon as he bit into it, like a honeydew melon, without the hardness of stone.

Once eaten, it filled his mouth, throat, then stomach with fragrant sweetness, absolutely delicious.

Sun Wukong immediately felt a coolness throughout his body, and a golden light flowed within him.

"Such strong Spiritual Energy."

He looked at the other Stone Fruit in surprise. The power contained in this Stone Fruit was in no way inferior to that of the Ginsengfruit.

Sun Wukong carefully placed it into his sleeve.

"I'll take it back for Ao Luan."

Sun Wukong thought, somewhat eager to leave the Langya Blessed Land.

But before leaving the Blessed Land, his gaze turned to the totem of the demon beasts on the stele.

"What exactly does this mean?"

Sun Wukong closely observed.

At first, he thought these totems of demon beasts were just ordinary patterns without much significance.

However, having spent a long time in the Langya Blessed Land, he realized there was some special connection between the totems. They didn't seem like mere totems but resembled strings of text instead.

After each cultivation session, Sun Wukong would spend a day studying the totems.

He researched while engraving some notes on the base, but even after several years, he still had no clue.

This time the result was the same.

After one day, Sun Wukong left the Langya Blessed Land without any findings.

He returned to Huaguo Mountain, where the Immortals were preparing for the sixth record.

Immortal Zhenyuan was the first to sense Sun Wukong's return.

"Brother, you're finally back."

He intercepted Sun Wukong mid-air and said, "You must help me check if there's anything missing with that Spiritual Network."

Immortal Zhenyuan took Sun Wukong to the Wuzhuang Temple.

Unlike the previous five records, this time in the face of the tide, the Immortals were filled with confidence.

Aside from Immortal Zhenyuan preparing to set up a Spiritual Network in the Asura Realm, Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad and others had also created many Immortal Artifacts to test in the Asura Realm.

These artifacts were all related to the sweet dew and, in theory, could completely resist the tide.

Sun Wukong saw various Immortal Artifacts, from Spiritual Network to Immortal Armor and shields, to all sorts of Array Diagrams. The efforts of the collective gave him a sense of security.

There were also several creations made by mere mortals selected, which pleasantly surprised him.

The fruits of education were showing.

And before the records commenced, Sun Wukong handed the Stone Fruit to Ao Luan.

"What is this?"

Ao Luan had never seen a fruit made of stone before.

"Can it really be eaten?"

"You can eat it; it's harmless."

Sun Wukong nodded: "Give it a try."

He was curious about the effects of this Stone Fruit.

Because his body was excessively strong, anything Sun Wukong ate didn't show much effect.

However, the power contained within this Stone Fruit should manifest in Ao Luan.
