Time flies like an arrow, and in the blink of an eye, two years have passed.
In the Western Continent, when the north wind blows, snowflakes mingle with the chilling air, falling on rivers and forming a layer of thin ice.
As dusk approaches, along the icy river bank, two horses are galloping.
They run past a Daoist Temple.
"Quick, in here."
The Great Han leading the way speaks, and the woman following him swiftly rises in the air, vaulting over the wall into the Daoist Temple with him.
Outside, the fine horses haven't paused at all, continuing to rush forward. Soon after, a group of hoofbeats sounds nearby.
"They've gone ahead, quick, chase after them!"
Soldiers dressed in official cavalry attire thunder past the front of the Daoist Temple.
The two people wait until the soldiers have left before they relax their vigilance.
"Are the horses okay?"
The woman asks.
"They're fine, those horses are sentient and know the escape route."
The Great Han replies, then leads her towards the Daoist Temple's backyard.
"This place is a secret base for the Heavenly Taoist Sect, often you'll find Sages and wise people hiding here."
As the Great Han speaks, he opens the gate to the backyard.
Upon opening the gate, a warm breeze immediately greets them.
The woman sees a bonfire erected ahead, surrounded by a crowd of people. When they hear the gate opening, the crowd turns their heads for a glance, but finding nothing amiss, they continue their discussion.
"We don't believe in Immortals, nor in Buddha, we believe in wisdom, we believe that man can conquer heaven."
A youth says excitedly, "What kind of evil sect is this, that they suppress us time and again? Those Immortals and Buddha are truly unreasonable!"
"For now, we can only wait a few more years."
Another man with an accent from the Southern Continent adds, "Once the matter in the Northern Continent is settled, the Heavenly Emperor will surely make a move."
"It's just we don't know how much longer we have to wait."
A woman sighs, "Why did the Heavenly Emperor choose the Northern Continent first?"
"Because it's a land in chaos."
The Great Han who just entered sits down and says, "The beings in the Northern Continent suffer greatly. Only through suffering can they understand what is precious and comprehend the profound meaning of equality under Wanling."
"That's right."
The rest nod in agreement.
Someone hands the Great Han and the woman a cup of tea. The Great Han has a sip and then says, "Some soldiers just passed by, you all will need to leave soon."
Everyone immediately becomes serious.
After a brief stay, they stand up, ready to leave.
"The path ahead is long and full of obstacles, take care everyone."
The Great Han bids them farewell.
The crowd, radiating an aura, flies away from the Daoist Temple one by one. The woman watches this scene, "They all mastered the Wanling Heavenly Dao."
"Not Sages, then wise people."
The Great Han laughs, "Doesn't seem like it, right?"
The woman nods.
This woman is a new acolyte of the Heavenly Taoist Sect, extremely gifted and a strong learner. The Great Han plans to recommend her for further study at Huaguo Mountain.
"The boat is almost here, come with me."
The Great Han takes the woman and leaves the Daoist Temple.
Passing by the entrance of a village, the woman notices a damaged statue of the Heavenly Emperor collapsed by the roadside.
"This statue was originally built by the villagers nearby."
The Great Han explains, "Ever since the Lingshan Touch Monkey, this statue has been knocked down, but the villagers still secretly keep some small wooden carvings."
The woman is somewhat surprised, "Don't they regard the Heavenly Taoist Sect as a cult?"
"People have their own measure of right and wrong in their hearts; they see clearly what is a cult and what isn't."
The Great Han answers, "How could the Heavenly Emperor, once called the Sage, possibly found a cult?"
"Truly a marvel of the Demon World."
The woman can't help but admire Sun Wukong.
No other demon has been so revered by the Human Clan as him.
"I wonder what he's really like."
While contemplating, the woman follows the Great Han to the ferry crossing.
"Somebody has come to pick you up."
The Great Han spoke, and the woman looked up to see a tiger demon navigating a boat through the mist.
"Tiger Demon King."
The Great Han was somewhat surprised and bowed in greeting: "You're personally coming over?"
"This woman is rather special."
The tiger demon stopped the boat, taking a glance at the woman: "Are you Lady Earth Flow?"
"Do you know me?"
The woman was taken aback.
"It really is you. The Heavenly Emperor ordered me to fetch you."
Joy appeared on the tiger demon's face as it spoke: "We've been searching for you for a year, fortunately, you didn't go to steal the Fragrant Flower Precious Candle."
"Fragrant Flower Precious Candle?"
Lady Earth Flow was even more surprised: "How do you know?"
"The Heavenly Emperor told me."
The tiger demon replied: "He also said that if you had gone, you wouldn't have been able to return."
Sun Wukong knew that Lady Earth Flow from the minor world had stolen the Fragrant Flower Precious Candle.
But the Buddha of this world was too clever, and could also predict that Lady Earth Flow had a destiny with Wanling Country. If Lady Earth Flow were captured, her fate afterwards would be changed.
Therefore, Sun Wukong sent someone to pick up Lady Earth Flow.
"My lady, please board the boat. I will take you to Huaguo Mountain."
The tiger demon invited Lady Earth Flow aboard the boat.
Sitting on the boat heading towards Huaguo Mountain, Lady Earth Flow's spirits lifted more and more; she had never expected that the great Heavenly Emperor would take notice of her.
After a long journey across the water, Lady Earth Flow arrived at Huaguo Mountain and was settled in Yunxiao City.
For several days straight, she played and toured around Yunxiao City, so enthralled that she would return late into the night.
"Why hasn't the Heavenly Emperor summoned me?"
Only after she had grown tired of playing did she finally ask, unable to contain herself any longer.
The tiger demon took her to Shuilian Cave.
"Please proceed on your own, my lady."
The tiger demon stood at the entrance and spoke.
Lady Earth Flow entered Shuilian Cave.
As soon as her foot crossed the threshold, she felt her head spinning, and by the time she regained her bearings, she found herself on a chaotic battlefield.
"What's going on?"
Lady Earth Flow had no time to ponder as she instinctively ducked to the left, narrowly avoiding a sword swung by a warrior in front of her.
"Demon be damned!"
After the first strike failed, the warrior immediately launched a second sword attack.
Lady Earth Flow, who had very little cultivation, couldn't resist and quickly became panicked and flustered.
She dodged and weaved, finally managing to escape from the raging battlefield to enter an unfamiliar forest.
But the forest was no less tranquil. Lady Earth Flow was transformed back into her original form here, encountering various illusions, and enduring hellish pursuits and trials.
In a myriad of crises, Lady Earth Flow remained on edge, unable to rest for days on end.
Exhaustion and tension filled her mind, but simultaneously, she unconsciously gained something in her head—memories of certain events.
"These are all dreams."
Lady Earth Flow suddenly realized one day.
As soon as the thought appeared, her surroundings immediately changed.
"A child that can be taught."
Lady Earth Flow lifted her head to find herself in the palm of Sun Wukong, and not much time had passed.
"Heavenly Emperor."
She knelt down.
"You are from the Wanling people."
Sun Wukong spoke: "I wanted to awaken your memories, and you indeed are clever, quickly recalling them."
"I haven't recalled much."
Lady Earth Flow spoke.
"One must not be too anxious."
Sun Wukong shook his head: "I will provide more stimuli for you in the future, and you will gradually be able to remember."
Lady Earth Flow nodded her head in joy.
