Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear

Chapter 296: Who's Yoo Gyeo?

The newly arrived group settled just three steps away from Rayen and the others.

Choi Jaehan circled around Yoo Gyeo, before finally standing beside him. He hooked his arms around Yoo Gyeo's shoulder.

"Why did you leave with that guy earlier?" Choi Jaehan asked, his tone casual as though they were old friends talking.

However, Yoo Gyeo's reaction was clearly a contrast to Choi Jaehan's actions. With a stiff body, he looked down.

"N-Nothing. I-I just took him around school to guide him."

Choi Jaehan's smile widened. "Hmm? Is that so?"

"Do you really believe him, Jaehan? He's clearly lying," Lee Seoha said, her eyes sharp. "Oi, what did you talk to him about?"

Yoo Gyeo shrieked.

Meanwhile, Miles and Yuzuka were dumbfounded as they watched the scene playing in front of them. Once again, they turned their heads toward Rayen.

"Is this really him?" Miles asked.

"I-I don't think it's him at all," Yuzuka said.

Rayen frowned.

'Are they talking about that time when I dragged him out earlier? And why is he letting these guys bully him?'

But then, Son Areum's voice shifted their attention back toward the scene once again.

"Aren't you scaring him so much?"

"Yeah. That's right." Choi Jaehan glanced at Lee Seoha. "Don't scare him too much. We're just here to ask."

Lee Seoha rolled her eyes, but she still stepped back.

"See?" Choi Jaehan said as he glanced at Yoo Gyeo beside him from the corner of his eye.

Rayen sighed. He then dragged the others all the way behind a tall mountain of tables and chairs. Once Rayen determined that the place was at the blind spot of the other group, Rayen turned to Miles.

"Turn off the scenario for a bit."

Miles reluctantly turned the scenario off. Rayen walked out.

It was Yoo Gyeo who noticed his presence first. His eyes quickly landed on him before averting them. Choi Jaehan noticed that he was looking somewhere and followed the direction of his gaze.

When he saw Rayen, he stiffened.

"... Since when were you there?"

Rayen smiled. Executing Adrian 101 again. Flowers seemed to float around Rayen's charming face.

"Since before you entered the rooftop," Rayen replied.

"....." Choi Jaehan released Yoo Gyeo. "As I said, we're just talking as friends here."

Rayen nodded wistfully, clearly unconvinced of Choi Jaehan's words. "Mh-mh. You want to know the reason I dragged him out earlier?"

"..." Choi Jaehan couldn't think of anything to reply.

"I'm trying to recruit him to our club," Rayen continued.

Upon hearing Rayen's words, Choi Jaehan's eyes widened. "You're trying to recruit this twerp?"

The two other girls also frowned.

"Why would you want to recruit him?" Lee Seoha asked as Son Areum nodded quickly.

Actually, they already heard that Rayen and his members from SEEDZ were trying to create a club.

There was also the upcoming event — Gyeongwon's Founding Festival where all of the Affiliated schools of Gyeongwon University would hold a joint music show. Choi Jaehan was sure that these guys were doing this for this event, so they definitely needed some talents.

If they really wanted to join Flower Garden, grabbing this connection was a good opportunity to show just how capable they were, so Choi Jaehan and the two of them had been trying to stick to Rayen since the first day, but it was all for naught as Rayen seemed to be avoiding them.

However, this twerp was actually getting recruited by Rayen himself?

"Simple," Rayen said. "I would like him to be our member."

Lee Seoha's frown deepened. "What's good about him?"

Rayen glanced at Yoo Gyeo. He raised his brows.

"Don't you think he looks good?"

He was, after all, one of Plotter's incarnations. Every Plotter that Rayen knew more or less shared a similar characteristic to the original one — they all looked breathtaking.

Son Areum also turned to glance at Yoo Gyeo. "Now that you said that, I also think he does..."

"....." Lee Seoha and Yoo Gyeo were both speechless.

"That's all?" Choi Jaehan said.

"Do I need to spell it out? Don't scouts look at a potential recruit's face first?"

"....." Choi Jaehan couldn't answer.

'So you're admitting that you're here to recruit talent?'

For the first time ever, Rayen was able to read a subtitle under a person's face.

Finally, Choi Jaehan admitted defeat. He signalled to the two girls with gritted teeth. "Let's go."

The girls followed him and started walking away. However, before they completely disappeared through the door, Choi Jaehan turned back to Rayen.

"Let's see your performance for the founding festival."

'Is that a provocation?'

As the three figures disappeared from the exit, Rayen sighed. He glanced toward Yoo Gyeo. At the same time, another four people emerged from behind the mountain of tables and chairs that Rayen had come from earlier.

Yoo Gyeo stared at them, dumbfounded.

Just then, Yeo Haru approached him and touched him on the shoulders. His gaze was weird as he stared at Yoo Gyeo.

"Manager, I understand you..."

"....."

"I'm not your m-manager."

"It doesn't matter."

"Why do you let those people bully you?" Xu Jiji asked.

"I-It's a part of life. Besides, they're usually not like that.."

Yeo Haru pursed his lips as he whispered, "Is bullying really a part of life?"

Yoo Gyeo didn't respond.

Unbothered by Yeo Haru's change of mood, Miles crossed his arms as he stared at Yoo Gyeo. "Overseer?"

Yoo Gyeo turned to him. "I'm not your Overseer."

"Then what are you?"

"....." Yoo Gyeo pursed his lips, unresponsive.

"He's definitely not the Overseer," Miles said, turning to Rayen.

'Isn't that what he said earlier?'

"I-I'm not the Overseer. I'm just Yoo Gyeo."

Miles turned to Rayen once again. "Who's Yoo Gyeo?"

'Why are you always turning to me?'

"I-I'm Yoo Gyeo, the stuttering student in Gyeongwon Affiliated High School," Yoo Gyeo said.

"Yeah, you're indeed a stutterer. What's up with that?" Miles said as though he had completely forgotten that he once considered Yoo Gyeo as Plotter.

"I-I can't help it. I am supposed to be like this."

'Suppose?'

"Is that so?"

"T-That is so."

The two nodded at each other.

This conversation isn't going anywhere, so Rayen put a stop to it.

"You heard what Choi Jaehan said. He wants to see our performance on the founding festival. You should consider joining us now."

"B-But isn't that between you two?"

"....."

Well, that was true, but Rayen was unwilling to say that out loud. But how would he be able to convince this person?

Rayen looked him up and down. "Are you willing for them to belittle you like this?"

Yoo Gyeo frowned.

"Aren't you Yoo Gyeo, a student of Gyeongwon Affiliated High School?"

"That's right."

"So, did Yoo Gyeo enroll in this school just to be called a twerp?"

"....." Yoo Gyeo held his chin as though his mind was browsing through something. "N-No."

"Why do you have to think about it for so long?" Miles asked.

He has more to say, but Yuzuka eventually tapped him on his shoulder which shut him up.

"So, who's Yoo Gyeo?" Rayen asked again.

Yoo Gyeo stared at Rayen straight in the eyes. "O-Okay. I accept."
